Storyteller Chair

Wing-back chairs look traditional and boring, right? We say wrong. Not after we transformed this rescued piece from dull to rather divine.

First, we stripped it back and restored its insides, then we turned tradition on its head – hand-dyeing cotton twill fabrics in three different shades of pink, using them to create a patchwork, and adding a hint of punk by deliberately leaving the edges frayed. As a final flourish, we hand-painted the wood frame in a decidedly un-punk sugar pink.

The result is an incredibly comfortable chair that you can curl up in for hours, reading stories…or being told stories. It looks wonderful solo, or pairs beautifully with its ‘baby cousin’, the Little Daydream chair.
