I love the color pink!  In my last house I had a huge pink velvet sofa. The person who bought the house insisted on buying the couch along with all of the other contents – which Suzanne and I take as a great compliment to what was Ulloo42’s first interior design project.

In color psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It’s a positive color inspiring warm and comforting feelings – a sense that everything will be OK.

A recent ‘pink’ article I loved was a profile of the famous Argyle Pink Diamonds in in the Financial Times’ How to Spend It. These gorgeous gems come in all hues of pinks to purple, are much rarer than white diamonds and, I think, more beautiful.

One of my favorite chairs in our Ulloo 42 collection is the Pink Goddess. Carved goddess and lions heads adorn the pale pink arms and hot-pink-and-green African wax print fabric completes the piece. I also wish I had house room for our pastel pink Marie Antoinette sofa. (I guess it’s a risk of the business when you fall in love with a piece and wish you could keep it!) Hand-dyed fabric with frayed edges make this oversized confection rebellious and regal at the same time. Like all of our artcycled furniture, both of these are one-of-a-kind pieces. You can see them here

Diana Vreeland famously said that “pink is the navy blue of India”. Perhaps we can say that pink is the navy blue of Ulloo42? (But on the other hand, we love so many more colors just as much or more…)
